Friday 25th March - walk *** - Around Felixstowe – breezy with sunshine and showers.

Gave windsurfing a miss today as strong winds and rain forecast for this afternoon, in the end I probably missed a good session at The Manor with winds around 20 knots, in the end we only got a little rain with a brief spell when it reached 30 knots! Still never mind as mag and I had a nice day, home in the morning and then as I had a couple of pics in the local paper, it has been a good month for me :) we had to go up town to buy one! There had been a lot of sun in the morning but it had clouded over by the time we set off with fingers crossed it would not rain as we headed to the woods at The Grove. Entering the at Abbey Grove with its daffodils and plantation of trees and luckily it is drying out nicely now. Entering the main woods, we are greeted by the very noisy crows and we then spotted some playful squirrels and I managed to get a couple of ok pics. We passed the horses feeding and carried onto the end of the wood, returning along the edge of the field. Back through the windy paths with wild garlic coming along now and back through the town where we get a heavy shower, shame really as Mag had her washing still on the line! I then make a detour to the cliff to check the sea and the rain seemed to have switched the wind off, going offshore too! Home for the usual cuppa and cake and with wind forecast for a few days I hope to get out on the water, perhaps Nacton Shore tomorrow in the westerly but chilly first thing but it is expected to reach 22 degrees early next week. I think lots of the sailors who live away from the coast are getting excited as the lock eases so they can now drive to windsurf from Monday:)
